In the past day to Thursday, July 30, Lithuanian health authorities have registered 19 new infections with the novel coronavirus. Estonia followed with nine new cases and Latvia was the only Baltic country not to have a faster increase in newly confirmed cases compared to the day before.
Lithuania had 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, July 29, followed by 19 newly infected people on Thursday, July 30. The latest information on Lithuania shows a total of 2,062 infections since the start of the pandemic. The number of COVID-19-related deaths in Lithuania is still at 80, whereas the number of recovered persons has reached 1 643.
In Latvia, four persons have been tested positive with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours to Thursday, July 30. Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 31 Latvians have died from conditions related to the novel coronavirus and 1,228 people have been infected and 1,052 have recovered. As many as 193 035 tests on the novel coronavirus have been carried out in Latvia.
In Estonia, where the virus has taken the lives of 69 people, nine new cases of the COVID-19 infection were confirmed. This means the total number of past and current patients in the country is at 2,051. The last COVID-19 death was registered in the country on 2 June.
The state of emergency has ended in all three Baltic States. However, certain restrictions remain in place, such as the requirement to maintain social distance and use of hand disinfectants.
