Latvia still has much to do in order to submit its application for the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility to the European Commission, said European Commission vice president Valdis Dombrovskis (New Unity).
“Negotiations among Latvia’s representations and responsible European Commission’s services have launched. The first observation is that plan meets the requirements of the facility, but there is still much that has to be done, thinking about the concrete investment projects, reforms in the context with specific recommendations for the Latvian state,” said Dombrovskis.
At the same time, Dombrovskis said that there are ongoing negotiations with many member states, none of them has a plan at such stage that it can be submitted and supported by the European Commission.
“Practically all countries have a number of question that should be solved and the talks about the plans are very intense,” said Dombrovskis.
Most of the member states will complete preparation of their plans by the end of April.
As reported, financing up to EUR 2 billion will be available to Latvia from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility by 2026.
