Quarantine comes into force in eight more municipalities

The quarantine regime now applies to a total of 21 municipalities in the country. Under the government’s decision made on Monday, residents of these areas must wear face mask in all public spaces with rare exceptions. Gatherings of more than 5 people are also banned in such areas, institutions have to fully or partially operate remotely, shops are required to limit the flows of shoppers and clients, visits of hospital patients over the age of 14 is banned, excluding new mothers and residents of social care institutions. There’s also a recommendation in place to avoid mass religious gatherings. Also on Wednesday, the government plans to ban events and gatherings in Lithuania. If the Cabinet approves, fans will not be allowed to attend professional sports matches. The ban would come into force on Friday.
