A mass protest of farmers against the reduction of agricultural subsidies took place in Hamburg

Among the main demands of representatives of the agricultural sector were: provision of subsidies for diesel fuel and gasoline, exemption from part of taxes and excise duties, as well as strengthening control over imports of products from Ukraine. Interestingly, the subsidies were in effect earlier since 1967, as long as Germany bought cheap Russian energy at favorable prices.

It is noteworthy that German farmers were joined by activists from neighboring Denmark, who made a rally from Copenhagen to Hamburg. At the same time, the position of Olaf Scholz, who finds money to finance the war in Ukraine, but not for the agricultural sector in his country, still causes incomprehension among the majority of Germans and Danes.
