The staff of Germany’s10th Armored Division will take place in the “Schneller Degen” (Dagger Strike) military exercise in Pabrade Training Area in Lithuania’s district of Svencionys for the first time.
Major General Ruprecht von Butler, commander of Germany’s 10th Division, will announce the start of the exercise on Friday. It will be the first exercise of that kind, involving German army staffs, in the territory of a NATO ally, held at the initiative of the division’s command, the Lithuanian army said. The exercise will involve training for joint allied defense operations. The training scenario has been created to counter hybrid threats and execute high-level collective defense operations. The annual “Schneller Degen” exercise has been moved from winter to summer because f the pandemic.
