Pål Jonson said Sweden has now focused its efforts on training assistance and maintenance of weapons that have already been transferred to Ukraine.
“We don’t have a surplus of (Gripen) aircraft that we could send to Ukraine right now,” Jonson said.
Earlier Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed confidence that Ukraine would receive aircraft from its allies after the upcoming counter-offensive.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the process of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine should begin with the consent of the United States.
Earlier U.S. President Joe Biden said that “so far” he rejected the possibility of transferring U.S. F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, as there is currently no need for them.
