Some 1,500 people gathered in downtown Helsinki on Saturday to protest efforts to curb the virus.
Police said the demonstration by Helsinki’s Central Railway Station, which drew some 1,500 people, passed off peacefully.
Saturday witnessed mass protests against coronavirus mitigation measures in several major European cities, including Vienna which is heading into a nationwide lockdown to contain infections.
The Finnish institute for health and welfare (THL) on Saturday said 80.9 percent of residents over the age of 12 had been double jabbed. Some 86.3 percent of those eligible for the vaccine had received one shot by Saturday, while some 171,000 individuals have so far had a third dose.
