Among other topics the prime ministers will focus on the “close cooperation between Finland and Sweden in the Nato membership process”.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (NCP) is scheduled to meet with his Swedish counterpart, Ulf Kristersson, on Monday 27 November.
Following bilateral talks, the PMs will join Finnish and Swedish foreign and defence ministers for a more extensive meeting.
The bilateral meeting will deal with topics including relations between the two countries, the security situation and EU matters, according to a Finnish government press release.
The meeting with ministers will focus on “the close cooperation between Finland and Sweden in the Nato membership process”, the release stated.
“Relations between Finland and Sweden are closer than ever, and this is also reflected in the interactions between our governments. Swedish ministers have been frequent visitors to Helsinki in recent months. We are working together closely on both security issues and EU policy, and Prime Minister Kristersson and I intend to strengthen our common message in our upcoming discussions,” Orpo said in the release.
